Meanwhile, the overall number of applicants to Internal Medicine programs rose from 23,666 in 2024 to 24,849 in 2025, a 5% increase. This consistency between the IMG and overall growth rates underscores the strong appeal of Internal Medicine for both international and domestic candidates.
